Just a note about what happens when you need to leave a Blackboard test due to an emergency.

Many instructors use a setting when creating a test in Blackboard that forces the test to finish if it is not completed (i.e. your computer reboots, browser crashes, or a fire alarm goes off in an open use lab causing a forced logout). The result of this is you cannot log back into myUSF and pick up the test where you left off. If you find yourself in this situation the first and most important person to contact is your Instructor. He/She is the only person with the power to reset your test. It is important to document the time and reason for quitting the test unexpectedly. If the incident happened in an Open Use Lab on campus, ask for the lab attendants to help with documenting the exact cause of the incident. Otherwise, make sure to keep your own detailed notes with time, date, and location. For the more technically oriented of you out there, an IP address is also helpful. A good practice would be to note these things before beginning any test — just in case. This is especially true of dial-up connections. Make sure to forward any information you have to the Instructor along with your request to reset the test.

The GEMS Login module added to the Services & Resources portal page provides USF employees easier access to PeopleSoft’s Employee Self Service –Leave Information, Payroll and Compensation, etc.– and Effort Report System.

For those members of the USF community who have multiple university e-mail addresses, you can now change your Official USF E-Mail Address easily through the new USF E-Mail Address module added to your Welcome! portal page.   All myUSF messages are sent to your Official USF E-Mail Address.

It is also the e-mail address included in the USF E-Mail Directory.

myUSF is a one-stop online resource that allows access to information and services about USF: email, course material, student services, employee services, and much more.

myUSF is based on software developed by Blackboard Inc. and enhanced by Academic Computing. This software, along with custom-developed tools and resources, enables communication among members of the USF community. The myUSF portal links the entire USF community to a broad range of college information, services, and internal organizations.

myUSF is a gateway, or portal, into the Blackboard’s Academic Suite. Users can personalize the appearance and functionality of their own pages, as well as access information which has been customized for each user role (i.e. faculty, student, staff).
