Safe Assignment has updated their servers and we have installed their recommended update. It should be functioning normally now. We have tested it as much as we could under the circumstances and time limitations, and it is much more responsive. We’re monitoring the situation closely, so if anyone has any problems, please email them to us at myusf@acomp.usf.edu or contact our Help Desk at 974-1222.

A designated amount of free disk space is provided to the USF faculty staff and students on myUSF. You can store your files, access them from anywhere, share documents between courses, organizations, specific users, and even with individuals outside of USF. To begin using your Virtual Hard Drive, simply click on the Content Collection tab, and follow the instructions on how to set up your WebDAV* folder. Additional documentation and quick guides are available online at http://wiki.acomp.usf.edu/index.php/Content_Management
*WebDAV is an Internet standard used for sharing files via the Internet regardless of platform (Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Sun Solaris, and so forth). When put into use with the Blackboard Content System, WebDAV is a means for each user to access content from the Content Collection as if it were in any other network drive or folder.

We are currently experiencing several problems with the Safe Assignment functions in myUSF. Academic Computing is in communication with the company that developed this software, and we have identified that our current problems are emanating from their side of the application. They have been addressing the problems and assure us that there will be a solution forthcoming, but they have not been able to provide us with an estimated time when that might be completed. We are monitoring the situation closely and hope to have everything functioning properly soon. An announcement will be posted here when a solution is implemented. In the meantime, faculty who need to utilize a digital assignment tool in myUSF are advised to use Blackboard’s built-in assignment tool. Information concerning this tool is available here.
We apologize for the inconvenience and will inform the community as soon as a solution has been implemented.

The new Browser Check added to the Welcome! page on myUSF tests your browser to see if it is correctly configured for Blackboard. It also includes a pop-up tester and sample files to try downloading. Go ahead, take your browser for a Blackboard test drive!
